Super Bowl Foods

It is time for the big game. Your team has made the cut and it is time to see if they are up to scratch against the opposing team. It is Super Bowl time.

The Super Bowl is not just a football game, because even if you do not have a favorite team or are not even a fan of football, you can still enjoy the energy that the rest of the country is feeling. The "Super Bowl Party" is a modern American tradition that only comes once a year (and for some, it is the best time of year). So while you and your friends are sitting around the TV watch the game or laughing at the famous Super Bowl commercials, you need to pay attention to the food that people snack on.

Traditional Super Bowl food is all about finger snack, which has lots of salt or sugar, and lots to drink. Here are a few of my favorite recipes you can try to liven up the food part of the party:

Bacon Wrapped Dogs

How much more American can you get? This is a great dish to put together as it is simple to make, little clean up, and easy to make more if you run out during the game. For starters, you need a pound of bacon, a pound of hot dogs, and a box of brown sugar. You want to first cut your hot dogs into quarters, and cut each bacon piece in half. Wrap each half of bacon around each piece of hot dog and put a tooth pick through it so they stay together. Put all of your dogs into a crock pot and pour the entire box of sugar over all of them. Cook until the bacon is brown and then serve hot!

Bread Boat

Bread boats are great because you dish gets eaten, leaving little clean up (which is always a plus in my book). You need a loaf of French bread (though not too hard), a cup and a half of sour cream, two cups of cheddar cheese, ten ounces of cream cheese, a half cup of green onions, ham, and green chilies, plus a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Hollow out the bread bowl and pour in all the mixed ingredients and bake. People use the bread to tip into this scrumptious dish!
