By Kumar Manvendra

Sounds mischievous, isn't it? This tasty recipe made of potato and poppy seeds (posto) will make you hungrier than ever. It is a simple vegetable and easy to cook too.

Requirements:

Potatoes - 4 medium sized, peeled and cut into cubes.

Poppy seeds or Khaskhas or Posto - 5-6 tsp full

Green Chilly - 4-5

Dry Red Chilly - 2-3

Cumin seeds (Jeera)- 2 tsp

Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp

Salt - as required

Mustard Oil - 3 table-spoon minimum (tastes best)

Preparation:

Grind the poppy seeds to make a fine powder. For better grinding, first soak it in water for few hours and grind to paste.

Cut the potato in cubes and soak in water. Cut the chillies into small pieces.

Heat the desired quantity of oil in a pan, add the Cumin seeds, as soon as it sputters, add dry red chillies and stir for about half minute.

Now drain the water from potato you kept for soaking and add the potato cubes in the oil. Add turmeric powder. Sauté well so that all the potato cubes get covered well. Add required quantity of salt and mix well. Simmer and cook till they are lightly golden. Now add the posto/poppy seeds paste.

Cook on medium heat till the paste uniformly coats the potatoes.

Now add some water and the chopped green chillies.

Cover the pan and let the potato cook till it gets soft and most of the water evaporates. Just take enough care to not to mesh the potato.

Get ready to devour
